AXL ROSE's 'Chinese Democracy' Coming Soon?
April 3, 2008Marc Malkin of E! Online reports that Axl Rose has recently been letting people, music industry honchos, tastemakers and so forth, listen to six new tracks from GUNS N' ROSES long-awaited new album "Chinese Democracy", according to a music executive who has heard the songs.
The exec raved about the music. "It's really good," he said. "Axl's voice sounds exactly the same, but the songs sound contemporary. You expect it to be a trainwreck, but it's not."
"Chinese Democracy" has reportedly been in the works since 1995, with Rose the only original member still in the band. According to a report published two years ago by the New York Times, Rose had allegedly burned through $13 million in the studio by that point.
Although a revamped GUNS lineup toured successfully in 2006 and Rose tentatively promised that the record would be out last March, it never materialized and little has been heard about it since.
